Roma, Italia: Day 3

Wednesday was our last day in Rome. We didn't do too much because we mainly spent the day traveling home. We did find one last gelato place and got some gelato and we also got a last treat at a little bakery. We were sad to go, but also very tired from all the walking so were kind of ready to leave as well. Ciao!

Roma, Italia: Day 2

On Tuesday we started the day off by heading to St. Peter's Square and Basilica, which was amazing. The details and extravagance in St. Peter's was insane. It is such a beautiful place and I am glad they actually still use it! They had seats set up outside for mass on Wednesday. We were offered tickets, but they said mass would last about 2 hours so we decided to not go. My favorite part of St. Peter's was La Pieta. It evokes such emotion seeing Mary holding Christ. After St. Peter's we went and got pizza which was scrum-diddly-icious. Then we headed to the Vatican Museum. Since Simon is a student he got in for 1/2 price, the ticket booth guy winked at me and also gave me the student rate, I credit my charm and good looks, haha. The Sistine Chapel is so detailed as well. It is truly inspiring.  After the museum we started making our way to the Pantheon. On our way we saw some really beautiful piazzas and fountains. At the Pantheon we got gelato again (of course) and ate it on the steps in front of the Pantheon. Then we walked back past the Trevi fountain and Spanish steps and then headed to Santa Maria del Popolo piazza and church. I got in trouble for taking a picture because I didn't know you weren't supposed to, whoops. Krys and Rach went back to the apartment after that while Simon and I walked around trying to find an open grocery store. Instead we found an open bakery and bought some pastries and treats to try.

I dropped all my whipped creme on the stair and was so sad, I did something completely unlike me (Because I am obsessed with whipped creme) and scrapped the part that hadn't touched the ground and put it back on my cone... gross I know
